On this week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, the viewers - and competitors - saw a list of firsts.
- For tonight’s battle, the Top 7 competitors each had to perform a dance they had not yet attempted.
- The couples all had to tackle hip hop for the group dance number.
- Len Goodman - who had an unexplained absence this Monday - was replaced by Michael Flatley (a.k.a. the “Lord of the Dance”).
- One professional announced that they would be temporarily leaving for a non-dance related medical procedure. (Julianne Hough is having her appendix removed this week.)
In the end, who proved they could master two dances…and who showed us they couldn’t even handle one? Read on!

Tonight on Dancing with the Stars, long-time followers of the show were offered a very nice treat. For Season 7’s halfway point, the remaining eight couples were challenged with four entirely new dances.
For the first time, the parquet floor saw the pairs take on either the Hustle, Jitterbug, West Coast Swing or Salsa. Interestingly enough, the styles were so new—even some of the professionals struggled. (Derek Hough even had to research online!)
Which competitors rose to the challenge…and which ones needed more schooling? Read on!

Last Tuesday, chef Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff came very close to being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. But thanks to Misty May-Treanor’s nasty accident, the couple was given another chance to stay in the game.
Unfortunately, the remaining 9 pairs were not able to write off Week 3 completely. The scores from this Monday’s dances are going to be combined with last week’s numbers to determine Week 4’s elimination.
So after tonight’s Samba and Tango performances, were Rocco and Karina still likely to leave next? Read on!

When you don’t have a soap opera fan base supporting you, a large asset on you or eighty years of living behind you—chances are, you’re going to be eliminated. And that was precisely the case for Ted McGinley.
Tonight on Dancing with the Stars: Season 7, the Love Boat/Married with Children/Hope & Faith/Happy Days star was asked to leave the parquet floor. His elimination came one day after comedian Jeffrey Ross was sent home with only one eye.
Although McGinley was not the competition’s lowest scorer - his his combined total of 35 bested Cloris Leachman’s 32 - no one expected the feisty octogenarian would be going anywhere quite so soon. And while he was technically tied with Susan Lucci and lazy Kim Kardashian coming into this evening, his charm was outmatched by their appeal.

Last night, Dancing with the Stars: Season 7 kicked off with a jam-packed premiere.
All 13 couples - including 2 injured dancers - attempted either a Cha Cha Cha or a Foxtrot. After Round 1, actress/model Brooke Burke was sitting in the lead with a score of 23 while comedian Jeffrey Ross was resting at the bottom with an embarrassing 12. (Even Adam Carolla managed to get a 15 at this point last year.)
Tonight, 12 of the pairs were given one more chance to win voters over before Wednesday’s second elimination. Who proved they were worth saving…and who asked to be sent home? Read on!

In addition to having the series’ youngest and oldest competitors to date, the seventh installment also boasts two Olympians and several interesting rivalries. This year we have married competitors (Alec Mazo, Edyta Sliwinska), a father/son battle (Corky Ballas, Mark Ballas) and a brother/sister rivalry (Julianne Hough, Derek Hough).
For the show’s first night, all 13 couples each performed one dance. They will then follow that up with another routine on Tuesday. Come Wednesday, the program’s first two celebrities will be eliminated.
So how did the new hoofers stack up? Read on!

On last night’s episode of Dancing with the Stars: Season 6, the last contenders got their chance to prove they were worthy of the finals. In the first ever “face off,” all three couples performed the same style of dance (the Cha Cha) within the same song. This was an opportunity for the viewers and the judges to see how they all tackled an identical challenge. Then in the no holds barred Freestyle round, the stars were allowed to bring whatever their momma gave them.
By night’s end:
- Cristián da le Fuente earned a 26 for his Cha Cha (an improvement from his earlier 21) and a 26 in the Freestyle round. TOTAL: 52
- Jason Taylor scored a disappointing 24 for his Cha Cha (a tie with his last attempt) and a 27 for the Freestyle. TOTAL: 51
- Kristi Yamaguchi achieved perfect scores in both styles. TOTAL: 60

In last week’s semi-finals, the remaining four contenders repeated two styles chosen at random. By Tuesday, Jason had fallen into third place and Marissa was given a warm goodbye.
Tonight on Dancing with the Stars: Season 6, the three finalists performed another two numbers. In the crowd favorite freestyle dance, the couples were only limited by their imaginations and abilities. In the first ever face-off number, the couples all had to do a 1-minute cha cha segment within the same song.
Who stepped within reach of that mirror ball trophy…and who simply looked out of step? Read on!
